Flamingods is, as of now, the bedroom project of Kamal Rasool, as of now, a Londoner. Using ukuleles, a collection of African drums, and a rotating selection of other instruments, Rasool builds catchy, dense, lo-fi pop songs with a buoyant tone, lightly covered in frothy reverb.

Flamingods – Beach-y
Flamingods – Bottle Rocket 2

PS, I really want to say that my use of the word “frothy” is justified here (the reverb seeming to float above the surface… if that’s any better), even though it is strictly speaking not incredibly descriptive. If you hate me for it, that’s your prerogative, and I’ll love you no less for exercising it.
