The Tallest Man on Earth - The Wild Hunt

Earlier this year I had the chance to see The Tallest Man on Earth perform at one of Morgantown, WV’s handful of opportunities to host Charleston, WV’s more regular feature Mountain Stage, West Virginia Public Broadcasting’s gift of prominent musicians to the natives. As far as my taste is concerned, it’s usually a mixed bag, but my taste isn’t the only taste concerned, so it’s a great opportunity for locals to see musicians that the state’s smaller venues wouldn’t normally be able to draw with regularity. That said, this post is in absolutely no way timely: it’s a show I saw months ago with tracks from an album that is thoroughly released. It’s purely for the benefit of anyone that hasn’t already heard or seen the very short Kristian Matsson perform as The Tallest Man on Earth, belting out some of the most poignant and memorable folk I’ve ever known to have broad appeal.
