Dygn & Happy Family - Barely Caring

Dygn and Happy Family are two regulars on Wig Flip Records, a digital label run by the latter. Barely Caring is two undivided tracks of mesmerizing drone and distortion, reportedly “created for the bathroom at Soft Fest October 23-24, 2009.” Rarely is ambient music of any kind able to keep the relatively quick pace of variation that it shows without over engaging the listener, but Barely Caring is both oddly melodic and hypnotizingly persistant at once. I can only imagine whatever multimedia support it may have had in the Soft Fest restroom, but out of respect for their artistic vision, I may have to give it a spin in mine. It can be downloaded for free via Wig Flip’s website.
