The New Lines - Beko 22

The New Lines of Princeton, NJ and Brooklyn, NY were recently singled out for Beko DSL’s 22nd single and it’s one of their absolute best. The two tracks evoke both The Ladybug Transistor and Jens Lekman, with the heavy, laconic vocals characteristic of both, layered overtop a parternership between jangle pop and shoegaze (balanced more in the former’s favor).

The band is planning to self-release a split 7″ sometime early this year, but in the meantime here’s the a-side from their Beko, which can downloaded in it’s entirety here.

Geometry aside, the power of effective color combination is endless. With graphic design theory, we can all become superheroes in practice.
