The Jescos - Topless Cow Girl

The Jescos is a collaboration orchestrated by James Toth (Wooden Wand) and Tim Bracy (The Mendoza Line), filled out by the latter’s wife and a variety of musicians pulled together by the former. Although they haven’t gotten a good talking-up yet, the Murfreesboro, TN based “super group” was interviewed by Magnet Magazine this summer, with Toth and Bracy curating the their online edition shortly after. The Jescos have been billed as a super-group – a sometimes discouraging title – for a little while now, and with only two songs available via their myspace page, they might seem like an uncertain bet. Fortunately, those songs show pretty clearly that they’ve escaped becoming a new iteration of The Mendoza Line through Bracy’s distinctive vocals or Wooden Wand through Toth’s… Tothiness. They come off as a pretty genuine collaboration.

Earlier this week their debut 7″ came up for preorder from People in a Position to Know of Olympia, Washington for $5+shipping. You even get to choose what color your copy will be: jade green, hot pink, or purple-gray.

Cheers,

Dwight
